We’ve all been told this at one point in our careers and for most of us this is true with over two thirds (64%) of British workers being satisfied or happy with their job.
But what about those who have lost the love for their work? Can we rekindle the romance we once had with our jobs?
Remember why you loved the job in the first place.
Was it the adrenaline of organising a meticulously planned event or closing deal with a sponsor?
Maybe it was seeing the fruits of your labour and watching your ideas become a reality.
Or perhaps it was travelling to conferences and events across the world and meeting new colleagues, clients, and speakers.
Think about what drives you out of bed every morning.
Is it being successful and knowing that your achievements in the industry will lead you to bigger things?
Maybe it’s as simple as money and knowing every day you do well at work is a step towards a promotion or a pay rise?
Could it be that you love knowing you’re good at your job and you get to practice your strongest skills every day to get better and better.
Or it is this job your passion and every day you come to work you feel your purpose and it energises you to keep going.
Professional happiness is not something that is taught but is learnt over years of experience working in your industry and while your priorities in life might changes, what fulfils you in a career will usually always be the same.
This Valentine’s Day, why not find that spark at work again and rediscover the love you always had for your job.
