A recent article from HR Grapevine suggests research has shown that over half of UK employees find their office spaces ‘uninspiring’ and 84% want their workplace to offer them an ‘experience’ alongside their daily workload.
Savoy Stewart examined some of Europe’s most popular offices to see what makes them so inspiring and how to incorporate these features into workspaces to boost employee productivity 🚀
They highlighted 5 features found in well-known offices (Google, lego, Ticketmaster):
🏓 Designate an area for entertainment & relaxation – meditation rooms, relaxation areas and games rooms (ping pong, pool etc). Taking short breaks can improve productivity and wellbeing.
🖌 Add a unique office design – incorporating bold colours or quirky design features in your office space can boost creativity!
🏋♀️ Value employees’ physical health in your office design – introducing small gyms, desk bikes, and standing or walking desks can help staff feel their wellbeing is valued.
🥕Create a clearly designed space for people to sit and eat – time & money saver for people and it creates space to chat over lunch or a cuppa
🌻Incorporate nature – green plants can help relax the eyes!
Does your office have any inspiring features? I have seen great work spaces at the media and events companies I work with and many have incorporated several of the features mentioned above.
