Our candidate placement process

Step #1 - Registering your interest

If you’re looking to register with Jackson Barnes Recruitment, all you have to do is submit your CV here. We also advertise our latest jobs on Twitter and the Jackson Barnes Recruitment LinkedIn page, so free to follow us.

Step #2 - Getting to know you

We like to get to know all our candidates by discussing your experience, skills and personality. It’s also important for you to get to know us, and you’re encouraged to ask us questions in this process.
Once we know you inside and out, we'll share roles with you that fit you best.

If we feel we don't have a ‘live’ opportunity to suit your career ambitions, we'll proactively search for opportunities within our network of events and media clients.
If your specific skills don’t fit the industry sector or clients we partner with, we’ll provide alternative recruiters or organisations for you to work with.

Step #3 - Sharing our insights

Along with the career opportunities, we like to share additional information with you to help you make the right decisions for your career. We’ll provide you with important information about the client, job descriptions, the portfolio of events you would be working on and the client’s team and culture. We’ll also provide you with useful links if you like to do your own research.

After reading through this material, we’re happy to arrange another conversation to answer any questions or thoughts that arise.

Step #4 - Interviewing

Once you’re ready, we’ll arrange a suitable time for you to meet or chat with our client.

Preparation: Before the interview; you'll receive email confirmation that includes date, time, location, directions and interviewer details. You'll also get a copy of the job brief and any relevant supporting information. We’ll arrange a time for discussion prior to the interview to ensure you're up-to-date and confident.

Post-interview debrief: We like to hear from our candidates post-interview to hear about your experience, both positive and negative. We also share client feedback with you to help you improve your interview skills.

Step #5 - Pre-placement preparation

Prior to starting your new role, we’re always on hand to support you, answers your questions, and connect you to contacts in your new company.

Before your first day, we'll check in to make sure you have everything you need to make a strong first impression and fit in seamlessly with your new team.

Given our unique expertise, it’s useful for many of our candidates to utilise our industry insights and advice before they start their new jobs.

Step #6 - Post-placement check-in

Our work doesn’t stop after placement. Once you’re settled into your new role, we'll check with you to see how things are going. We always love to hear from our candidates, especially when you make your first sale or attend a major event.

In the unlikely event that things aren't going as you had hoped, we're here to support you, offer advice and help to plan your next steps. It can take 3-6 months to settle into a new job. Yet regardless of how large or small your concerns are, you can contact us to share any problems that may arise.
